Once you have chosen the perfect design for your baby the next step is to decide on how much detail to include in your card. Traditionally most people include the following key details:
Baby’s full name.
Make sure you include the full name of your son or daughter including any middle names.
Parents names.
Don’t forget to include your names as the proud (and exhausted) parents alongside any proud big siblings.
Baby’s birth details.
Family and friends love to know the details so if you’re happy to then don’t forget to include the exact date and time baby was born alongside their birth weight and height.

When and who to send your announcement to?
Etiquette dictates that you have up to 6 months to send out your formal baby arrival announcement card. However, many parents prefer to do this as soon as possible after baby’s safe arrival. One handy tip is to select your design and address your envelopes prior to baby’s arrival so that when he or she arrives you can quickly fill in the extra details and get them sent out with very little hassle. A new baby announcement is usually sent to family and close friends, but make sure to include everyone who attended your baby shower. You can also double up the announcement card with a simple baby thank you card for those who have kindly sent gifts. This will save you time and makes sure your loved ones know how much you and baby appreciate the gesture.
